DISCOVERY WORKSHOP - UX/UI - BRANDING

LAMBETH COUNCIL

The Lambeth Council digital universe has grown to an overwhelming 65 websites for services. This results in a disjointed experience for users, overlapping content and inconsistencies.

I was tasked to elevate the existing website’s look and feel and, more importantly, to provide designers and developers with tools to create engaging campaigns and content.

A digital style guide was created, to provide designers, product managers and developers with a common language around Lambeth Council brand components. All elements are accessed through a rich component library and includes snippets of code for reference.

WHAT I DID

Facilitated a discovery workshop to scrutinise the existing site, identify opportunities and establish a new workflow for the digital team when approaching websites. A style guide combined with a new microsite creation process is a step closer to standardising campaigns that are easier to find, drive more engagement and ultimately reduce costs.

DIGITAL STYLE GUIDE

To achieve this, I built a style guide for designers, product managers and developers that provides a common language around Lambeth Council brand components. All brand elements are accessed through a rich component library and includes snippets of code for reference.

Each component can be reused across the site and expanded as new requirements came in. Saving the council time and money in design and development cost. A department could add a new component rather than reinventing the wheel.
